LaRussa having conversations about returning to Cardinals

October 15, 2010 By Bill Pollock

It has been over a week since Tony LaRussa cleaned up his office and headed home to California to ponder a return to the Cardinals. Up until today, there hasn’t been much reported on the status of his decision.

ESPN is reporting that LaRussa and the Cardinals are having contract talks and that a deal for the 66 year old to return to St. Louis for his 16th season is close to being done. In the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, pitching coach Dave Duncan said he would be interested in coming back regardless of what LaRussa does and would like to coach three more years.
