SW MO judge orders Public Defender to represent suspect

August 11, 2010 By admin

A Christian County judge says the public defender’s office there must represent a man charged with burglary although the office says it has reached its maximum number of cases and won’t take anymore. The State Public Defender’s office says burglary suspect Jared Blacksher is not eligible for representation because the office cannot handle another case. But the prosecutor says that action violates Blacksher’s rights.
