Cardinals starting pitcher Brad Penny shook off a rough first inning where he allowed two runs and then settled down and went six more innings without allow a run. The Cardinals won 4-2 at Arizona.

Matt Holliday hit a two run homer in the fifth to tie the game. It was his fourth of the season. The Cardinals scored single runs in the 8th and 9th as Colby Rasmus doubled to lead off the 8th and later scored on an error and then Rasmus singled in an insurance run in the 9th.

Rasmus is 3 for 9 with four RBIs in his last two games after going the previous six without a hit. Holliday was struggling a bit as well, but went 3 for 5 including his fourth double.  Penny is now 2-0 and has an ERA of 1.29 as he struck out five while walking just one.
