There is a national volleyball honor going out to Washington, Missouri native and Missouri State junior libero Cara Hackmann. She was picked by College Volleyball Update as the 2009 Libero of the Year.

She was the Missouri Valley Conference Libero of the Year and Defensive player of the year where she averaged 5.74 digs per set and 671 total digs, which were both school records. She also set a conference record with 46 digs in a match back in October.

Adding to her list of honors, Hackman was first-team all-MVC, four-time MVC Defensive Player of the Week, CVU.com National Player of the Week Oct. 13, MVC Player of the Week Oct. 12, and two-time MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The Bears were 21-10 overall last season and finished second in the MVC with a 14-4 league record.
