LaRon Council rushed for 164 yards, Joel Osborn passed for 281 and Northwest Missouri State stopped a late Washburn drive to earn a 24-21 win Saturday at Yager Stadium. It was the eighth straight win for the Bearcats, who’ve won 14 of 15 against Washburn since 1995.

Central Missouri saw pair of 12-point leads get away in each half Saturday in falling 38-33 to Nebraska-Omaha in front of over 10,000 fans on UCM Homecoming 2008 at Walton Stadium-Kennedy Field. The loss was a possible blow to the Mules NCAA-II playoff hopes, as they had entered the game fifth in the NCAA-II Super Regional Four rankings. 

The Missouri Western Griffons held the Missouri Southern Lions scoreless in the second half to win their fourth consecutive game in the series 17-3.  The Griffons have won 9 of the last 10 against the Lions. 

Emporia State scored 21 unanswered points and rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit to defeat the Truman Football team 35-24 in Emporia, Kan. on Saturday afternoon.
