Four home runs including a grand slam helped the Tulsa Drillers outlast the Springfield Cardinals 12-7, Monday.

Tulsa tied the game at 2-2 in the third inning after Springfield had taken the lead in the second. But it was the fifth inning that provided the games most exciting spark. Tino Sanchez hit a grand slam, driving in four of his season-high five runs, that helped the Drillers in a five-run inning take a 7-2 lead.

Springfield answered right back in their half of the inning scoring four runs to bring the game within one. The Cardinals put together six consecutive hits before Gabe Johnson struck out for the first out in the inning.

Nothing was doing for either team in the sixth, but Tulsa outscored the Cardinals five runs to one over the last three innings to pull away for the win.

Jentry Beckstead got the win, Chris Lambert took the loss.

Both teams combined to his six home runs in all. Travis Hanson and Kevin Estrada each hit a homer for Springfield. Seth Smith, Ian Stewart, and Christian Colonel joined Sanchez on the list of Drillers who homered in the game.
