The Cardinals scored three times in the eighth inning to battle back from down two to win 6-5 over Florida and take two out of three from the Marlins.  Albert Pujols hit a monster shot off the upper deck facade in the sixth inning.

Rick Ankiel, went 3-for-4 in the game and scored three of the Cardinals’ runs.  Ankiel hit a one-out single in the first and scored on Nick Stavinoha’s single. In the sixth, he singled before Pujols’ blast.  Ankiel led the comeback when he again to lead off the inning and scored on Ryan Ludwick’s single. Pujols would score after center fielder Cody Ross bobbled the ball fielding the hit. Ludwick would go to third and score on Colby Rasmus’ single.

Cardinals starter Todd Wellemyer gave up two home runs to former Royal Ross Gload and left after six innings, giving up five runs and 11 hits on a very hot south Florida afternoon.
