Joel Osborn threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Kendall Wright on 4 th -and-8 in the final minute to beat Washburn, 28-27, in front of a homecoming crowd of 8,325. The win gives Northwest (7-1, 7-0 MIAA) at least a share of the MIAA championship. It’s the team’s second consecutive title and 21 st overall. Only Truman with 27 championships has more MIAA crowns.

The University of Central Missouri Mules scored the game’s first 28 points and coasted to a 56-14 victory over the winless Southwest Baptist Bearcats on Saturday at Plaster Stadium.  The Mules (6-3, 5-2 MIAA) moved into a four-way tie for second place in the MIAA with the win.

Missouri Western scored 16 third quarter points to go up 30-7 en route to a 30-14 win over the Missouri Southern football team at Spratt Stadium in St. Joseph. 

Tyler Fenton’s diving catch on a two-point conversion and Mickey Massuci’s 32-yard field goal in overtime, lifted the Truman Bulldogs to a 33-30 Homecoming victory at Stokes Stadium on Saturday afternoon.  The Bulldogs improve to 5-4 overall and 3-4 in the MIAA, while Emporia drops to 3-6 and 1-6 in the conference
