The Cardinals completed their 10th three-game sweep of the season Thursday. The Redbirds hit three home runs in a 7-2 win over the San Diego Padres. Albert Pujols hit his 43rd home run of the season in the first inning. Jim Edmonds added his 39th of the year in the first. Larry Walker also went deep for St. Louis. Pujols finished with four hits and two RBI. Edmonds drove in three runs. Jeff Suppan won his 14th game of the season, tying Matt Morris and Chris Carpenter for the staff lead. He allowed two runs on seven hits in six-plus innings.
