Former SMS standout Jackie Stiles had one of her worst games as a professional on Tuesday in Portland’s 73-52 loss to Minnesota. Stiles was held to five points on 2-9 shooting while committing four fouls and four turnovers. Missouri product Amanda Lassiter finished with eight points and 13 rebounds in Houston’s 78-76 double-overtime loss to Sacramento. Lassiter played a season-high 37 minutes in the defeat.
Former SMS Lady Bear Jackie Stiles scored 18 points on 6-12 shooting, but it wasn’t enough as her Portland Fire team fell to Utah on Sunday 65-63. Stiles struggled at the line in this one, hitting just 5 of 9 free throws in defeat. Former Missouri standout Amanda Lassiter scored nine points and pulled down five rebounds in one of her best games as a pro, but her Houston Comets lost to Cleveland 63-53.
Despite hiking her scoring average up to 16.6 points per game, former Southwest Missouri State Lady Bear Jackie Stiles just missed being selected as a starter for the WNBA All-Star Game. Stiles finished third in the fan voting in the Western Conference at guard behind Houston’s Janeth Arcain and Sacramento’s Ticha Penicheiro. Penicheiro beat her by just over two-thousand votes (48,801-46,096). Stiles still has a good shot at being named to the Western Conference squad as a reserve. The full rosters will be announced on Wednesday.

Stiles hit on 4 of her 12 shots from the field and all ten of her foul shots. Stiles added three assists and two steals in her 29 minutes of work.

The Portland Fire shooting guard averaged 21 points a game in three contests last week to raise her season’s average to more then 16 a game. Stiles scored 20 points last night on 9-14 shooting, but it wasn’t enough as Portland lost to Houston 74-67. Former Mizzou standout Amanda Lassiter started at forward for the Comets and scored five points while pulling down five rebounds.
Jackie Stiles had it cooking last night as she lead her Portland Fire squad past Indiana in WNBA action. The former Southwest Missouri State star poured in a career high 26 points on sizzling 10-12 shooting. She also hit two clutch free throws with 31.6 seconds remaining to give Portalnd a 66-65 lead. Stiles is now averaging 15.8 points a game as a rookie.

Southwest Missouri State product Jackie Stiles made her pro debut last night for the WNBA’s Portland Fire, scoring 17 points in an 82-65 loss to Minnesota. Stiles played a team-high 34 minutes and hit on 5-13 shots from the field. Stiles went 6-7 at the foul line. She scored 15 of her 17 points in the first half.
