Ozark’s Mike Smith threw a five-hitter and struck out ten, as the Mountain Ducks beat Jackson 5-1. Smith reached the 200-strikeout mark for the season, the first time he’s done that in 17 years of professional baseball.River City blew a 2-0 lead in the ninth, and lost to Dubois County 3-2.

Mora’s Streak Alive as Ducks Lose

Amarillo beat the Ozark Mountain Ducks 11-4, to win the season series 9-7. Ozark’s Juan Mora doubled to extend his hitting streak to 27 games. Amarillo and Ozark will likely meet in the first round of the Texas-Louisiana League playoffs in September. Amarillo is in first place, and Ozark is 4th.

The Ozark Mountain Ducks outlasted first-place Amarillo, 2-1 in 10 innings. Ozark’s Juan Mora extended his hitting streak to 25 games. Ozark is a game over .500 at 46-45, but the Ducks are in 4th place, trailing Amarillo by 15 and 1/2 games.River City lost to the Springfield, Illinois Capitalals 8-2, as Springfield averted a series sweep. The Rascals are 40-27, in first place in the Western division of the Frontier League.

River City’s Mike Robertson drilled three more hits, including a home run, to extend his hitting streak to 30 games. The Rascals beat Dubois County 8-0. Ryan Bauer pitched a three-hit shutout to improve to 8-1, best in the Frontier League.Ozark pitcher Mike Smith fired his second straight shutout, as the Mountain Ducks beat the Greenville Bluesmen 6-0.

Mike Robertson of the River City Rascals did it again. Robertson had three hits, including a homer, to extend his hitting streak to 29 games. The Rascals beat Dubois County 5-2.The Ozark Mountain Ducks beat the Greenville Bluesmen 4-3. The Ducks took advantage of three Greenville errors to score twice in the 5th inning.

The River City Rascals lost their third in a row, falling to Richomd 5-3. River City’s Mike Robertson homered to extend his hitting streak to 27 games.Ozark rallied from a 9-3 deficit but fell short, losing to the Lafayette Bayou Bullfrogs 9-8.
