For the first week this season all fourteen teams were involved in conference match-ups as week three draws to a close. It was also a record breaking night as four MIAA records fell in the Emporia State-Central Oklahoma game.
#3 Northwest Missouri 49, Fort Hays State 14
#3 Northwest Missouri scored 35 points in the first half as they picked up a victory on the road at Fort Hays State. NWMSU rolled up 519 yards of total offense while holding FHSU to just 365 yards on the night.
For the Bearcats Trevor Adams threw for 165 yards and two scores and Brady Bolles finished with 72 yards passing and one score. Bill Creason carried the ball just eight times for 26 yards but managed three touchdowns on the ground. Eric Reimer finished with a team best six tackles on the night. For the Tigers Treveon Albert was 14 of 22 for 158 yards through the air. Andre Smith rushed for 107 yards while Edward Smith and Albert each scored rushing touchdowns. Shane Smith finished with 10 tackles and Michael Jordan added eight stops on the night.
#6 Missouri Western 31, Nebraska-Kearney 19
#6 Missouri Western scored the game first 21 points and held on for a win on the road at Nebraska-Kearney. MWSU used a balanced attack on the night throwing for 277 yards while rushing for 210 on the afternoon.
For the Griffons Travis Partridge was 22 of 35 for 277 yards and two touchdowns. Stephon Weaver ended up on the right end of both those scores racking up 50 yards receiving. Nick Williams led the way with 10 total tackles and Marcus Thompson picked off two UNK passes. For the Lopers Bronson Marsh passed for 241 yards and rushed for 201 yards and three touchdowns. Kellen Warner had 15 total tackles and Tyke Kozeal added 11 stops.
