Missouri Angler Michael Harlin Completes Remarkable Comeback to Win Bassmaster Open on Upper Mississippi River (LISTEN)

by | Jul 3, 2026

Redemption is a word that gets thrown around a lot in sports, but for Missouri angler Michael Harlin, it’s the perfect description. Just four months after a self-reported rules violation led to a disqualification and one of the lowest moments of his career, the Osage Beach native stormed from 68th place after Day One to win the Bassmaster Open on the Upper Mississippi River.

The victory earned Harlin more than $43,000, a berth in the 2027 Bassmaster Classic, and a shot at advancing to the Bassmaster Elite Series. Michael joins us now.
