St. Louis has added another major sporting event to its growing resume. The city will host the 2028 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials, where America’s top distance runners will compete for a chance to represent Team USA at the Los Angeles Olympics. The race will showcase some of St. Louis’ most recognizable landmarks, including Forest Park, the Gateway Arch, Busch Stadium, and Washington University, home of the 1904 Olympic stadium.
Mark Schreiber, president of the St. Louis Sports Commission, joins Show Me Today to discuss what this event means for the city, the state, and Missouri’s sports tourism industry.
