by | Jun 17, 2026

World Cup fans have been posting their impressions on social media about American foods, including Kansas City barbecue. Mike Burris of the Missouri Restaurant Association says it’s hard to put a value on such positive feedback, but he says it must be huge.

Burris guesses the World Cup fans will boost local restaurant profits by up to 25% this summer. He notes concern that local diners may be deterred by crowds and avoid going out to eat. His suggestion: eat out when soccer fans are in the stadium.
