The Missouri Military Academy in central Missouri is being sued by a 12-year-old cadet over sexual assault allegations.
The lawsuit claims that a 15-year-old cadet was assigned to share a room with the younger cadet near the beginning of the 2025-26 school year, and he almost immediately began sexually assaulting him. The unidentified 15-year-old allegedly raped the 12-year-old every night between September 1st and 4th of 2025, according to the lawsuit, causing permanent physical injuries.
The victim’s attorney claims the Missouri Military Academy has a history of not protecting younger cadets from older ones and has tolerated a climate of abuse, assault, and hazing.
The academy provided the following statement from MMA President Richard Geraci:
“At Missouri Military Academy, the safety and well-being of our cadets are our highest priorities. The allegations in the lawsuit are unsubstantiated and without merit.
Upon becoming aware of any alleged incident of misconduct, we immediately initiate an investigation in accordance with our established procedures and notify parents. As necessary, we involve appropriate outside agencies. At no point has any evidence suggested wrongdoing by MMA, as the lawsuit alleges.
The Academy intends to vigorously defend this matter. We are proud of the education we provide to the young men accepted into our Academy. That education is grounded in our core values of respect, honor and integrity.”
The plaintiff is seeking a minimum of $25,000 in damages, according to court records.
A criminal investigation has also been conducted, according to Mexico, Missouri Public Safety Chief Brice Mesko.
“We began the investigation, which consists of talking to witnesses and trying to collect any physical evidence that may exist,” Mesko told Missourinet. “We completed that and forwarded a case to the 12th Circuit Court, Juvenile Division, on October 17th, 2025.”
Missourinet has contacted the Audrain County Prosecutor’s Office for more information. There’s no word yet on whether criminal charges have been or will be filed.
