Law enforcement officers are searching for two men who held up the Isle of Capri Casino in central Missouri’s Boonville on Wednesday afternoon. Lt. Eric Brown with the Missouri State Highway Patrol told Missourinet what happened.
“Two unknown suspects entered the casino. One was armed with a rifle and one with a handgun,” Brown said. “The suspects stole an unknown amount of money from the casino. The suspects then fled in a tan, older model Ford Taurus. That Taurus was later found abandoned.”
Brown said information on what the robbers looked like is “limited,” so no descriptions are available yet.
“Right now, our officers are still processing evidence,” he said. “They did recover evidence at the scene that they’re working on, and also they’ll have fallen up on numerous leads.”
The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms are assisting in the investigation. Meanwhile, the Isle of Capri Casino has reopened for business.
Anyone with information on the casino robbery is asked to contact the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
