Missourians taking domestic flights this month can expect some delays, according to Nick Chabarria of AAA auto club in St. Louis.  He said the ongoing partial government shutdown continues to cause security slowdowns at some of the nation’s airports.

Airport leaders in St. Louis and Kansas City note slow downs have been minimal compared other airports such as Chicago’s O’Hare.  Chabarria notes, however, due to the large amount of spring break traffic as well as NCAA basketball fans traveling all over the country, it is recommended that travelers arrive at airports 2-3 hours before their flight.

The Acting Deputy Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Administrator Adam Stahl is warning that smaller airports might be forced to close if more security workers call out or quit due to the shutdown and lack of paychecks.
