The managers of Missouri’s Hidden Valley and Snow Creek Ski Resorts are anticipating increased crowds after the recent snowfall.
Jesse Kimes of Hidden Valley Resort near St. Louis says skiers love to hit the slopes after a fresh blanket snow.
Both resorts generally rely on snow making machines to prepare the ski runs for the season. Kimes says they get pretty excited when Mother Nature provides a fresh blanket of snow. Both Kimes of Hidden Valley and Joaynna Cook-Grey of Snow Creek Resort (near Kansas City) recommend lessons for beginners, and note skiing, snowboarding, and tubing are fun for all ages.
Cook-Grey says she grew up ski racing and is excited about the upcoming Winter Olympic Games (February 6-22), which will shine an international spotlight on winter sports athletes. She said the athletes at that level are elite, but skiing is a sport that’s fun for any age and/or skill level.
Both resorts are owned and operated by Vail Resorts, Inc.
