The Missouri Department of elementary and Secondary Education says the state has received federal childcare subsiding funding. The department says all funding requests from the Administration for Children and Families that had been delayed due to required additional justification needed have been received.

The delay stems from a childcare funding scandal in Minnesota. The federal government wanted additional information from states to help ensure federal funding is not fraudulent.

The state agency says childcare subsidy providers that submitted invoices for payment December 30-January 12 can anticipate receiving these funds by January 16, 2026.

The department says childcare subsidy providers should monitor their payments portal for updates.
