Deputies in western Missouri’s Vernon County are investigating the killings of several heads of cattle that took place in mid-October.
They appear to have been shot with a small-caliber gun, according to a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office. The cattle were located on private property near the town of Walker, about ten miles northeast of Nevada.
A $15,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever’s responsible. The Vernon County Sheriff’s office has been reposting details of the case on Facebook over the past several weeks in an effort to generate publicity and encourage anyone who may know anything to come forward.
Vernon County Sheriff Mike Buehler said he “will not leave any stone unturned” in their investigation into who’s killing cattle.
