Missourians may soon experience quicker service at DMVs across the state. Trish Vincent, Director of the Missouri Department of Revenue told Missourinet that it is the goal of a new system known as FUSION which stands for Fifty Unique Systems in One Nexus.

“When you go in to get your driver’s license now, we are using the new system,” said Vincent. “We have new cameras, and the system is user friendly for our contract offices out there.”

Vincent said the upgrade is already making a difference for Missourians.

“We’re kind of consolidating that into one program,” said Vincent. “So that down the road, when we look at a customer and our drivers and titling system, they’ll have one account– if you get my drift.”

Vincent told Missourinet that the system could even serve as a model for other state agencies down the road.

“We don’t really have anything to do with SNAP,” said Vincent. “We don’t have anything to do with Medicaid. So, working across agencies like Labor or Conservation or something can be a challenge. So, at this juncture, we’re just trying to make it more efficient when people contact the Department of Revenue.”

Vincent said they are currently working on the second phase of the FUSION system—titling and registration—and that should be activated sometime later next year or early 2027.
