The Missouri Court of Appeals Western District has rewritten the ballot language for Amendment 3, an anti-abortion measure set for the November 2026 ballot.
Judges ruled Thursday that the previous wording was insufficient because it failed to inform voters that the proposal would repeal and replace the reproductive rights amendment approved in 2024.
The new summary states that a “yes” vote would end those protections, allow abortion only in limited cases such as rape, incest, medical emergencies, and fetal anomalies, and ban gender transition procedures for minors.
A “no” vote would keep the current constitutional protections in place.
