The pilots from Whiteman Air Force Base in central Missouri’s Knob Knoster who flew last month’s bombing mission in Iran are President Trump’s guests at the White House this Fourth of July on Friday night.
President Trump talked about the pilots during a stop in Des Moines, Iowa on Thursday night.
“Not only the pilots, but the people that flew the other planes, but also the mechanics that had these planes going for 37 hours without a stop,” said President Trump. “You know, we had fifty. It was so far away. We had 52 tankers. They had never had to stop for fuel. They went 37 hours actually. And how incredible. What equipment!”
President Trump told the crowd the B-2 stealth bombers hit targets in Iran that he describes as no bigger than a refrigerator door.
“These people did one of the greatest military hits and maneuvers in the history of our country and I want them to be appreciated for it,” said the President.
The pilots will be guests at President Trump’s Fourth of July celebration in Washington, D.C. on Friday night and will be conducting a flyover.
