Miss Missouri, Ashley Berry, has spent the past year implementing her community service initiative — Media Smart.
Berry said she has visited many schools in Missouri and talked with students about being media smart, especially with technology progressing and the growing use of Artificial Intelligence.
“When I talk to students about AI, I always say just don’t let it do the work for you. I think that’s a huge issue right now. We have so many artificial intelligence chat boards that we can use to do our schoolwork. And I really just try to tell students, you know just try to do the work for yourself and don’t let anything tell you how to feel,” said Berry.
Berry told Missourinet that Artificial Intelligence is something we need to look as the country moves forward.
The Miss Missouri Pageant takes place from June 12th to June 15th at the Missouri Military Academy.
Berry said it is a weeklong competition.
“Our delegates compete in lots of areas of competition. We start with interviews, and we have our stage portions, to onstage questions, fitness, talent evening gown, sisterhood and we give out lots of scholarships.
I think last year we gave out over $80,000.
I think we’re matching that this year,” said Berry.
A new Miss Missouri will be crowned on June 14th.
