For those who have the day off from work and are still looking for something to do, there are plenty of free and inexpensive things to do this Memorial Day. Stephen Foutes, Director of the Missouri Division of Tourism, suggests visiting some of the state’s military museums.
“The Missouri National Veterans Memorial down in Perryville is free admission. Donations are accepted,” he said. “The Stars and Stripes Museum in Bloomfield, Missouri, it’s free admission. The Soldiers Memorial in downtown St Louis has free general admission.”
The National World War I Museum and Memorial in Kansas City, which usually charges admission ranging from $12 to $20, is hosting a number of free events today.

Correction: Our radio version of this story mentioned that the Museum of Missouri Military History in Jefferson City and the Air and Military Museum of the Ozarks in Springfield were open on Memorial Day, but they are closed today. Missourinet regrets the error.
