A smoked and processed meat producer is expanding its plant in northwest Missouri’s St. Joseph. Daily’s Premium Meats will create 115 new jobs in the St. Joseph area.
The $95 million investment will pay for a new bay to be built next to its current building, which the company said will more than double its current production capacity.
“We congratulate Daily’s Premium Meats on its expansion in St. Joseph,” said Gov. Mike Kehoe. “This company’s strategic decision to grow in northern Missouri is a testament to the region’s skilled workforce and ability to support leading manufacturers.”
The company currently makes 2.5% of America’s supply of bacon, and said the expansion will increase that output to 5%. Daily’s expanded site will also have greater smokehouse, food service, and retail capacity.
The meat company’s expansion is due in part to tax incentives from the Missouri Works program.
