Chilean nationals face charges in connection with a series of burglaries targeting prominent sports figures in the United States, including Kansas City Chiefs players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, as reported by the New York Post.
Seven people, ranging in age from 22 to 38, were named in the criminal complaint. They were charged with conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen goods.
According to prosecutors, the group allegedly targeted high-profile athletes from the NFL and NBA while they were away or participating in games. The burglaries included an incident at Mahomes’ estate in Belton, Missouri, and at Kelce’s residence in Leawood, Kansas, before the Chiefs’ Monday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints on October 7.
