Winter weather is back in Missouri.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for all of southern Missouri, west-central Missouri, and the Kansas City area, starting at midnight tonight. Six to 10 inches of snow is expected throughout most of the warning area, while four to seven inches are forecast for southeastern Missouri, including the Bootheel.
A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for some counties, stretching from Jefferson City to the St. Louis area.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for most of northern Missouri, including St. Joseph, Rock Port, Chillicothe, Columbia, Macon, Kirksville, Mexico, and Hannibal. One to three inches of snow are forecast in the advisory areas.
Extremely cold air is also pouring in as morning low temps are expected to drop below zero most of the week, with wind chills dipping as low as 20 degrees below zero. A Cold Weather Advisory is also in effect for areas of Missouri not under the warning, watch, or advisory areas.
