After a lackluster performance in the Super Bowl and the grind of coming off playing 25 playoff games in the last ten seasons, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce told his brother Jason on their “New Heights Podcast,” he’s going to take some time to decide on his future.
“I know everybody wants to know whether or not I’m playing next year and right now I’m just kicking everything down the road. Been fortunate over the past 5-6 years I’ve played more football than anybody. The fact that we keep going to these AFC championships and these Super Bowls and that process can be grueling. It can weigh on you even, right? It’s one of those things where it’s it was kind of crazy this year,” Travis said.
This shift in his future comes just days after he spoke at Super Bowl media days where he said he was definitely coming back next season. During the loss against the Eagles, Kelce certainly showed his age and perhaps he felt it as well.
“As you see yourself or not, feel yourself have the success that you once used to have man at some. It’s a tough pill to swallow. I think I could play. It’s just whether or not it’s I’m motivated or it’s the best decision for me as a, as a, as a, as a man as to take on all that responsibility.”
