Five more Missourians have been confirmed to serve as state department leaders or on statewide boards and commissions. The Missouri Senate confirmed a list of Gov. Mike Kehoe’s appointments on Thursday.
They include Trevor Foley as Department of Corrections director and Trish Vincent as director for the Missouri Department of Revenue.
Foley told a Senate committee that Missouri’s correctional system is a leader compared to other states.
“Really the focus on releasing a better product,” said Foley. “We are not the sole state that is focusing on that. Maine, Ohio, Michigan, Florida’s made a lot of moves in that direction in recent years. There’s several states that have kind of taken this banner and are running with it. I will tell you; Missouri is among the leaders.”
Foley was appointed to continue serving by Gov. Mike Kehoe after being sworn in as acting director in December of 2023.
Vincent said one of her goals is tackling the amount of expired temporary tags on Missouri roads.
“Interesting anecdote, if you have a temporary tag and you don’t get your car registered appropriately and you have an accident, you’re in trouble with your insurance, too,” she said. “So, there’s really some consequences involved. We are sending out notifications. We’re also looking at dealers that are issuing a lot of temp tags.”
Most recently, Vincent served as Executive Deputy Secretary of State and Chief of Staff to former Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft. Vincent previously served as the Director of Revenue during the Matt Blunt Administration.
