(Washington, D.C.) – Missouri’s Congressional delegation has cast its votes to certify President-elect Donald Trump’s 2024 win.
Southeast Missouri Republican Congressman Jason Smith said Republicans are ready to move quickly to “deliver real relief for the American people.”
Not even a winter storm in DC could stop me from joining the joint session of Congress today to certify President Trump’s historic electoral college win. Inauguration Day cannot come soon enough! pic.twitter.com/8c5YkcNIWf

Today, I will cast my vote to certify @realDonaldTrump as our next President.
This isn’t just a vote—it’s the beginning of something historic.
Picture this: secure borders, American jobs protected, families thriving, and your voice heard loud and clear in Washington.

Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, a Democrat from Kansas City, voted to certify Trump as the winner. However, he did not hold back on his feelings about the difference between Jan. 6, 2021 and Jan. 6, 2025.
“The peaceful transfer of power is the hallmark of American democracy and what has made our nation so exceptional for nearly 250 years,” he said on X. “Tragically, that sacred tradition was attacked 4 years ago when President Trump incited a violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. Despite my deep concerns about what will follow, I refuse to mimic the lies, undermine the rule of law, or overturn the will of the American people. As I have on every January 6th following a presidential election, I will certify the results of our latest free and fair election. By certifying the results, Democrats in Congress will award President-elect Trump the grace that he refused to give @POTUS, @VP, and the 81 million Americans who supported them in 2020. It is not easy—but it is the right thing to do.”
