Dreaming of a white Christmas? Dream on, said the National Weather Service.
They predict a near 0% chance of snow this week. Meteorologist Chris Kimble told Missourinet that the high temperature for Christmas Day will be in the 40s.
“I think that there’s a chance of rain in the morning, but mainly in the morning,” he said. “We’re just under the influence of southerly flow, which is bringing mild and humid air in from the south.”
Kimble expects several opportunities for rain this week.
“The first is Tuesday and then the next would be on Wednesday night into Thursday and then another this weekend,” he said. “Temperatures are expected to be mild through the entire period. So, we’re looking at just rain, here. It does look like we could get colder towards the start of January, but for now, it looks like Christmas week is going to be mild.”
Mild temperatures are expected to continue across Missouri for the rest of this year. However, there is a strong chance for below normal temperatures the first few weeks of January.
