Willson Contreras is no longer the starting catcher for the St. Louis Cardinals. The club will move him to first base and designated hitter next season. Contreras broke his arm when he was hit with a bat on a swing last season, and the team hopes the move will allow him to extend his career. The 32-year-old hit .262 with 15 home runs and 36 RBI in just 84 games last year.
Dylan Holloway is going to be okay. The Blues forward was discharged from the hospital late Tuesday night after getting hit in the neck with a puck during St. Louis’ 3-2 win over Tampa Bay. He’ll try to play tonight when the Blues go for their third straight win. They play Utah tonight. Dylan describes blacking out on the bench.
Mizzou volleyball (17-5, 8-2 SEC) defeated Georgia (9-12, 3-8 SEC) in four sets (25-18, 25-12, 26-28, 25-17) Wednesday evening at the Hearnes Center. With the victory, Mizzou extended its win streak to eight matches (seven SEC matches) and is now tied for first in the SEC with Kentucky at 8-2. The Tigers have the most wins in the SEC with 17.
The Chiefs put their undefeated record on the line against Denver. KC has an 8-0 record with six of those wins have been by 7 or fewer points. At some point, the close games catch up to every team, and the luck runs out, but Patrick Mahomes says their perfect record isn’t by accident.
