With 1:11 left in the first period of Tuesday night’s Blues-Lightning game, Dylan Holloway was taken off the ice on a stretcher after being struck in the neck by a puck during his previous shift. As play paused for a possible penalty, Blues players urgently motioned and called for medical assistance. According to the Blues, Holloway was alert and stable at a nearby hospital.

The Blues took down Tampa Bay 3-2 at Enterprise Center. Oskar Sundqvist and Alexey Toropchenko found the back of the net in the second period before Jordan Kyrou added the team’s third goal midway through the third. Jordan Binnington stopped 21 of the 23 shots he faced. The Blues have won back-to-back games to improve to 7-6-and-0. St. Louis hosts Utah tomorrow.

Mizzou Head Football Coach Eli Drinkwitz was non-committal on whether injured quarterback Brady Cook would play Saturday night against Oklahoma.

“I know y’all are going to ask me about injuries,” Drinkwitz said during his press conference on Tuesday. “I’ll welcome all the questions you wanna ask, and I will defer to the injury report that will be released tomorrow night, as competitive equity within the SEC.”

Cook started against Alabama after injuring his ankle against Auburn and left the Tigers loss to the Crimson Tide in the first half with an upper-body injury. Drinkwitz stated if Cook didn’t play, Drew Pyne would get the start. Pyne threw three interceptions in the Alabama game.

The St. Louis Cardinals are bringing back an injured relief pitcher. The team signed lefty Packy Naughton to a two-year minor league deal yesterday. Naughton had Tommy John surgery this past July while he was recovering from a flexor tendon injury. Naughton appeared in four games for the Cardinals during the 2023 season before suffering his initial injury. He didn’t allow a run and struck out five batters in five innings that year.

Kansas City will host the Denver Broncos, on Sunday afternoon at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs are the last unbeaten team in the NFL and come off a 30-24 overtime win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football. Travis Kelce leads the team with 52 catches for 435 yards and one touchdown this season.
