Chiefs cornerback Jaylen Watson will undergo surgery for a broken fibula and tibia. Watson has been placed on injured reserve and could reportedly return if the Chiefs make a postseason run. The 26-year-old has 32 tackles and six pass deflections through six games this season.
The St. Louis Blues gave up three goals in the second period and lost 3-2 to the Winnipeg Jets. The Blues got on the board first when Brandon Saad scored, his 500th career point. Saad finished the night with two goals as the Blues drop to 4-3-and-0 record. Defenseman Nick Leddy was placed on injured reserve yesterday. The Blues visit the Maple Leafs tomorrow night.
The St. Louis Cardinals have their new hitting coach. The team hired Brant Brown a bench coach with the Mariners last season, hitting coach of the Marlins in 2023. Brown will replace Turner Ward, who was fired. Brown played four of his five seasons in the late 90s with the Cubs and is infamous for this play when the Cubs were fighting for a wild card spot.
