Some members of Missouri’s congressional delegation are sounding off on the latest attempt to assassinate former president Donald Trump.

A 58-year-old man was arrested Sunday after allegedly trying to shoot Trump while the former president was playing golf in Florida.

Western Missouri Congressman Mark Alford is calling for a full investigation into what happened and why, and said “there is no place for political violence in America.”

Northern Missouri Congressman Sam Graves said there is “no excuse” for the former president to “have anything less than a FULL security detail.

Southeast Missouri Congressman Jason Smith said, “political violence and assassination attempts cannot become the norm.”

Alford, Graves, and Smith are all fellow Republicans. So far, there has been no comment from either of Missouri’s two Democratic U.S. representatives.
