An exhibit is on display in Missouri to honor the thousands of U.S. military members who lost their lives in the Middle East after the 9/11 attacks. “Honoring Fallen Heroes of the War on Terror” is the name of the exhibit that’s open for the public to see in eastern Missouri’s O’Fallon.

The outdoor memorial features a 28-foot American flag with the dog tags of the over 7,000 military members who died while serving in the War on Terror. The tags are arranged in alphabetical order ranging from 2001 to 2017, and then placed in chronological order of the date they were killed in action.

The outdoor exhibit has 50 gold stars honoring all gold star families, who have lost a family members while serving the United States.

The Veterans and Athletes United organization exhibit is on display through Sunday at the Mid America Veterans Museum.

It travels to eastern, central, and western locations of the U.S.
