Missouri continues to dry out.
The latest drought monitor map shows moderate drought conditions have expanded and now cover most of the St. Louis area and roughly half of southeastern Missouri. Moderate drought is also covering most of the Kansas City metro area, parts of western Missouri, and a section of southwest Missouri that includes Joplin and Neosho.
Abnormally dry conditions cover most of eastern Missouri and parts of southwest, northwest, and north-central Missouri.
The state is no longer under a drought alert, despite the worsening conditions.
