Presidential nomination confirmed for Kamala Harris, with all of Missouri’s 70 delegates officially casting their votes Tuesday night in favor of Harris. She easily surpassed the 2,350 DNC delegate votes required to launch her to the top of the ticket.

Democratic Party Chairman Russ Carnahan led Missouri’s formal roll call vote Tuesday night to make her nomination a reality.

“We’re home to Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs,” said Carnahan. “We are home to common sense leaders, like President Truman, Senators Eagleton, Carnahan, McCaskill. And we will fire Josh Hawley and hire Marine veteran Lucas Kunce. Voters will reclaim reproductive freedom. Kamala Harris is a lightning bolt of energy and hope across this country, and we proudly cast two votes present and 68 votes for Kamala Harris and our Midwestern friend, Tim Walz.”

Other Missouri DNC delegates include St. Louis Congresswoman Cori Bush, Kansas City Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones, Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas, St. Louis Sen. Karla May, as well as Reps. Betsy Fogle and Keri Ingle.

Harris and Walz will take on Republicans Donald Trump and JD Vance in November’s general election.

Thursday is the final day of the convention.
