Republicans are out in full force for this week’s national convention and U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt, R-Missouri, will be one of Tuesday night’s speakers there.
His office told Missourinet that Schmitt’s speech will focus on law and order. The junior senator will highlight the need to defend law enforcement and hold criminals accountable.
“This is the most consequential election of our lifetime and I’m proud to join President Trump at the convention, where he’ll continue his bold effort to get our country back on track,” said Schmitt.
Schmitt, who once served as Missouri attorney general, also plans to touch on border security.
He expressed support today for U.S. Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, becoming Donald Trump’s pick for vice president.
“A working-class kid from a small midwestern town offers a sorely needed perspective in the executive branch of our American government,” said Schmitt.
Schmitt responded to Missouri casting all its delegates for Donald Trump to officially become the Republican nominee by saying, “Missouri is all in for Trump.”
The Republican National Convention is scheduled to continue through Thursday in Milwaukee.
