For Kansas City Chiefs and Hallmark movie fans, the two sides will collide in a warm fuzzy Christmas movie.

No, the name of the movie will not be “A Kelce Swiftmas” or “I’ll Be Mahomes for Christmas.” It will be “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.”

Whether Chiefs players or Taylor Swift make an appearance in the film is unknown.

According to Hallmark, the movie is about a family of Chiefs superfans who are trying to win the team’s “Fan of the Year” contest. Then, of course, a love story forms. Expect a doorbell or another character to interrupt an almost first kiss between two of the main characters with chemistry.

Many Hallmark movies involve two people becoming a couple, breaking up, and getting back together again. Time will tell if a little Christmas magic happens and a Hail Mary pass is thrown to save the love game in this Kansas City-based movie.

“We are honored to partner with Hallmark on a project as unique as this,” Chiefs President Mark Donovan said in a news release. “As a club, we pride ourselves on exploring new ways to grow our brand, as well as connect with new audiences. This partnership unites two passionate fanbases and gives us an opportunity to show Chiefs Kingdom’s energy and tradition on one of the most-watched channels during the holiday season.”

The movie will film entirely in Kansas City, Missouri, including at Arrowhead Stadium. Kansas City is also the headquarters of Hallmark.

“With Hallmark and the Kansas City Chiefs both homegrown, rooted in values, tradition and community, there is a special alchemy between these two iconic organizations,” said Darren Abbott, Chief Brand Officer, Hallmark. “By blending the warmth of Hallmark storytelling with the excitement of professional football, we are thrilled to give audiences a front-row seat to this community’s spirit, rich traditions and passionate fans that define Kansas City, all wrapped up in the comforting and uplifting Hallmark way.”

The film stars Tyler Hynes, Hunter King, and Ed Begley, Jr. Game time is almost here- the movie begins filming next month in Kansas City. Check back for information about hiring extras and other temporary work related to the film.

The movie may very well reap the benefits of Missouri’s film tax credit program. The program was resurrected by the Missouri Legislature in 2023.
