Gypsy Blanchard is no longer in prison. The now 32-year-old woman who scammed several charities as a child and helped to kill her mom was released at 3:30 this morning from Chillicothe Correctional Center in northwest Missouri.

Prosecutors said Blanchard told her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn of Wisconsin, to murder her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard in 2015. Gypsy and her mother lied about Gypsy being disabled and wheelchair-bound to take advantage of charities.

Gypsy’s attorney, Mike Stanfield, said she was abused by her mother and that helped her get a plea deal of 10 years in prison. It’s believed that Blanchard was a victim of a rare form of abuse in which a parent or guardian fakes illnesses in a child for attention and sympathy.

Missourinet had requested an interview with Gypsy but our request was declined. She has granted interviews to national outlets this week, including People magazine and TMZ.

According to multiple media outlets, she was picked up from Chillicothe this morning by her husband, Ryan Scott Anderson. Multiple reports also state that Gypsy will be attending the Kansas City Chiefs game at Arrowhead on Sunday and hopes to meet pop star Taylor Swift.
