A second Democrat is entering the Missouri Governor’s race.
Mike Hamra is CEO of Hamra Enterprises, which owns numerous fast-food restaurants in Missouri, and in the Chicago and Boston areas. In a video posted to YouTube, he accused Republican leaders in Jefferson City of engaging in “partisan food fights” instead of “serving the people who elected them.”
He said his campaign will focus on several goals, which include “training workers to attract the high-wage, high tech jobs of the future,” “lowering the cost of raising a family,” “finding new ways to make childcare and healthcare more affordable,” and “restoring the right for women to make their own reproductive healthcare decisions.”
Hamra will face House Minority Leader Crystal Quade, also of Springfield, in the Democratic primary for governor. Republican contenders so far include Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe, Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft, and State Senator Bill Eigel.
