The U.S. Supreme Court has denied Missouri’s request to restore a controversial state gun law.
The federal government sued Missouri in 2022 to try and block the state from enforcing the Second Amendment Preservation Act. A federal judge ruled earlier this year that the Missouri law is unconstitutional and blocked the state from enforcing the law, also known as SAPA.
In an order today, the U.S. Supreme Court rejected Missouri’s request to reinstate the state law. Despite the order, the case can continue to play out in the lower courts.
Today's SCOTUS ruling on SAPA was a purely procedural matter.
We remain undeterred in our defense of Missourians’ Second Amendment rights. @POTUS, see you at the Eighth Circuit.

The Missouri Legislature passed and Gov. Mike Parson signed the bill in 2021. SAPA aims to invalidate federal gun laws and fine law enforcement agencies up to $50,000 if they enforce the laws.
