New leadership is ahead for the Missouri State Fair. Missouri Department of Agriculture Director Chris Chinn and Missouri State Fair Commission Chairman Kevin Roberts have announced that Jason Moore has been named director.

Moore has been a member of the fair staff since 2007 and currently serves as Facilities Manager.

Current Missouri State Fair Director Mark Wolfe retires from the position on December 31, following 15 years in the role.

Wolfe will leave on a high note. Missouri State Fair attendance increased this year. Nearly 350,000 people paid a visit to the fair – a roughly 2.5% increase from last year.

More than 25,000 livestock and competitive entries were shown at this year’s State Fair, with a 37% increase in dairy cattle entries and 30% for rabbits.

The carnival recorded its second highest year for revenue with the first Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday coming in as the biggest days on record.

The state’s largest agriculture expo is held each year in west-central Missouri’s Sedalia.
