The University of Missouri is seeking to build a better cancer-fighting reactor (LISTEN)

The University of Missouri is the only university in the U.S. to create cancer-fighting radioactive elements called medical isotopes.

A small nuclear reactor in Columbia creates them. The university wants to create a larger reactor that can produce more.

Director of the MURR program Matt Sanford talks to Ashley Byrd about this project that saves thousands of lives each day.
