Deer stand fire kills man in northwest Missouri

November 14, 2018 By Alisa Nelson

A 71-year-old man died Saturday from getting burned in a deer stand that caught on fire near northwest Missouri’s Carrollton. The deer stand was about four feet off the ground.

Mike O’ Connell with the state Public Safety Department says the fire is considered accidental and involved the man using a camping-style propane heater.

The victim’s identity is unknown.
