Missouri basketball player Terrence Phillips who was suspended from the team is being investigated by university officials, according to a report in the Kansas City Star.

The University of Missouri’s Title IX office investigates allegations of sexual discrimination and violence.  In an email obtained by The Star, the Title IX office sent an email to the victim on Friday.   That is when the team announced Phillips’ indefinite suspension.

After starting for the better half of two seasons under Kim Anderson, the junior had been a backup point guard for the Tigers this season under head coach Cuonzo Martin, averaging just over 10.5 per game.

Earlier this season, Martin had praised Phillips for his attitude and leadership despite taking on a different role on the team.
