Mizzou Women’s Basketball (17-3, 5-2) lost their first of three straight games against ranked teams when they faded in the fourth quarter and lost 62-50 to No. 21 Georgia on Thursday night in Athens, Ga.

It was a close game until the final quarter when Georgia outscored the Tigers, 22-11 to seal the win.

Sophie Cunningham scored 20 points for the third consecutive game to lead all scorers. Jordan Frericks finished with her 27th career double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds but Georgia limited Mizzou to 27.6-percent shooting.

Georgia also forced 18 Tiger turnovers, matching Missouri’s most in conference play, and second-highest on the season.

Mizzou travels to No. 9 South Carolina on Sunday. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
